Mine began with stories.

My name is Srinivasan, based in Mumbai, India. By profession, I’m a self-employed consultant, but life has always felt richer when it isn’t defined by just one role. Over the years, I’ve found meaning in wearing many hats : teacher, traveller, blogger, and lifelong lover of music, each shaping the way I think, work, and write.

Music, especially Indian classical music, has been a quiet anchor in my life. Teaching it keeps me grounded and constantly learning. Outside work, I enjoy travelling to new places, trekking in the mountains, or going out for a jog - simple pursuits that help me stay balanced and curious.

I share a deep, enduring connection with my alma mater. What began as staying in touch with old friends gradually grew into active involvement with the alumni network, guiding current students, sharing experiences, and helping them find their bearings. In a role that is especially close to my heart, I have also been co-opted as a Trustee of the trust where I completed both my schooling and graduation. Giving back to the institution that shaped my early years feels both humbling and deeply fulfilling.

Teaching and mentoring have always been central to my journey. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of training students who went on to qualify as CAs, CFPs, QPFPs and CPAs; a journey I’ve watched unfold with quiet pride.

Alongside this, I actively work to spread financial awareness as a Resource Person for the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) programme under ICAI’s Committee of Capital Market & Investors Protection. Through these sessions, my aim is simple: to make money matters easier to understand and less intimidating, especially for young professionals and first-time investors.

This blog began its life in 2015, originally as a space to write about music - my first passion. After a short pause, a 2019 trip to South Africa rekindled my love for writing, and travelogues soon became my favourite form of storytelling. Since then, I’ve written about journeys to places such as Markha Valley, Panch Kedar, South Africa, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Meghalaya, Ashta Vinayak..... 

I realized over time that while my earlier blogs were long and meticulously detailed, my younger audience enjoyed a punchier read. Since these chronicles are primarily created for myself and my fellow voyagers to take us back in time, I’ve refined the pace - capturing each experience through day-by-day narratives that allow both me and my readers to effortlessly relive those cherished moments

In May 2020, during the COVID period, I lost my mother. Writing became a way to process that loss, and it resulted in a deeply personal piece titled “Superwoman.” Around the same time, my writing naturally expanded into Personal Finance, where I focus on explaining complex concepts in simple, practical language and encouraging readers to take greater control of their financial lives. For thoughts that don’t neatly fit anywhere else, there’s always “Random Thoughts.”

On the academic and professional front, I graduated in Commerce from the University of Bombay in 1987 as a Rank Holder, and later qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Wealth Manager, Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Trust & Estate Planner, and Qualified Personal Finance Professional.

I began my professional practice in 1990, initially focusing on Accounts, Taxation, and Audit, and gradually expanded into Wealth Management and Financial Planning.

As of February 2026, this blog carries over 400 posts, most of them on Personal Finance, with others spanning Travel, Music, and personal reflections.
